- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Shift Schedule: Day shift, approximately 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Start Date: 10/6/2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,030 - $2,190
- On Call: No
- Floating: May be required within skill set
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care respiratory therapy experience
- Level III NICU experience accepted; Level IV NICU experience preferred
- Active New Jersey Respiratory Care License required at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT
- Experience with high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV), high-frequency oscillator ventilation (HFOV), and nitric oxide (iNO) required
- Previous experience with neonatal transport and high-risk deliveries strongly preferred
- Ability to work the scheduled shift and every other weekend
- First-time travelers welcome
- References from managers or supervisors within the last year required
- COVID-19 vaccination required with booster, unless eligible for approved exemption
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care for critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICU
- Manage ventilator strategies including HFJV, HFOV, CPAP, BiPAP, IMV/SIMV, and pressure/volume ventilation
- Assist with intubations, extubations, and high-risk deliveries
- Support neonatal transport and interdepartmental patient transport as needed
- Collect and interpret capillary and umbilical blood gases, including ABG analysis
- Provide aerosol therapy, pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and airway management
- Troubleshoot alarms and respond quickly to respiratory changes
- Care for infants with RDS, BPD, RSV, TTN, pneumonia, aspiration, and other complex respiratory conditions
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, high-quality neonatal care
