- Setting: Hospital Respiratory Therapy Department
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; every other weekend rotation
- Start Date: 11/13/2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930 - $2,080
- Additional Notes: Holiday coverage and occasional additional hours may be required based on unit needs
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC or equivalent certifying body
- Current Connecticut Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility to practice in Connecticut
- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required; 1-2 years preferred
- Previous travel respiratory therapist experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- NRP certification highly desired
- Strong clinical skills in fast-paced adult acute care environments
- Ability to float to other units within scope of practice and clinical competence
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to adult patients with respiratory, cardiac, orthopedic, and other complex medical needs
- Deliver care across multiple clinical areas, including ICU, emergency department (ED), med-surg, telemetry, and other assigned units as needed
- Support patient assessments, treatments, monitoring, and respiratory equipment management in accordance with departmental standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote optimal patient outcomes
- Adapt quickly to changing patient care needs and assist with unit coverage when reassigned within scope of practice
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment while delivering compassionate patient care
