Travel Medical Laboratory Technologist Job Details

• Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19140

Medical Laboratory Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant medical laboratory or clinical laboratory experience
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with the required science coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Completion of an approved military medical laboratory training program may be considered in place of the degree requirement
• Technologist certification or credential appropriate for the role
• Experience working in a CLIA-compliant hospital laboratory environment
• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently

Medical Laboratory Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of clinical laboratory procedures using manual and automated testing methods
• Evaluate patient specimens and laboratory test results with accuracy and attention to established laboratory standards
• Exercise independent judgment in the performance, verification, and reporting of laboratory results
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and communicate critical or significant findings according to protocol
• Participate actively in laboratory quality improvement, quality assurance, and quality control initiatives
• Follow safety, regulatory compliance, infection prevention, and laboratory operating procedures
