Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Hartford, Connecticut 06105
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital respiratory care department; acute-care environment
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,050
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 10, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel contract
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute-care setting
• Active Respiratory Therapist license and/or required Connecticut state credentials
• Current BLS certification
• NRP certification preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Strong respiratory assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills
• Clinical knowledge of oxygen therapy, airway management, ventilator support, and respiratory treatments

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions across the hospital
• Administer respiratory therapies and medications according to established protocols
• Assist with airway management, oxygen delivery, ventilator support, and other respiratory interventions within scope of practice
• Perform respiratory assessments and communicate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, treatments, patient responses, and clinical updates accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to support safe, timely, and effective patient care
• Respond to urgent and emergent respiratory-care needs while maintaining a calm, patient-centered approach
