Join a Cleveland, Ohio healthcare team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) providing pediatric and neonatal respiratory care in a 13-week travel contract. Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,970

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and current Ohio license or authorization to practice
• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; pediatric, neonatal, or critical care experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, noninvasive ventilation, and high-flow nasal cannula therapy
• Experience with pediatric and neonatal airway management, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and manual ventilation
• Ability to perform or interpret blood gas sampling and analysis
• Competency with aerosol and airway-clearance therapies, including nebulizers, PEP, IPV, cough assist, and high-frequency chest wall oscillation
• Ability to support high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation procedures, intubation, and surfactant administration
• Completion of required skills validation, competency testing, credential verification, and health-clearance documentation
• Current identification and documentation required for assignment onboarding

Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care for neonatal, pediatric, and medically complex patients in critical care, emergency, general respiratory care, and specialty units.
• Administer and evaluate aerosol therapies, including small-volume nebulizers, breath-actuated nebulizers, vibrating mesh nebulizers, metered-dose inhalers, dry-powder inhalers, and pentamidine treatments.
• Deliver airway-clearance therapies such as clapping and vibration, directed cough, PEP, oscillatory PEP, incentive spirometry, EZPAP, IPV, cough assist, and high-frequency chest wall oscillation.
• Manage airways through suctioning, tracheostomy care, manual ventilation, assisted ventilation, mechanical ventilation, and ventilator system checks.
• Initiate and monitor CPAP, BiPAP, NIMV, NAVA, high-flow nasal cannula, heated humidity, aerosol-mask, tracheostomy-collar, T-piece, and HME therapies.
• Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation, including T-piece ventilation, intubation assistance, surfactant administration, and neonatal rapid-response activities.
• Perform respiratory monitoring using pulse oximetry, capnography, transcutaneous carbon dioxide monitoring, peak-flow measurements, ventilator graphics, and spontaneous breathing trials.
• Provide respiratory support during patient transport, including MRI, internal transfers, portable high-flow therapy, assisted ventilation, and inhaled nitric oxide transport.
• Apply evidence-based respiratory protocols for asthma, cystic fibrosis, respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia prevention, acute chest syndrome, nitric oxide therapy, and other complex conditions.
• Educate patients and families on inhaled therapies, airway-clearance techniques, equipment use, and respiratory-care plans while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team.
