CT Technologist Travel Job Details
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,340–$2,510
- Assignment Type: CT Technologist travel contract
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 1, 2026
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Shift Rotation: Non-rotating
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based CT department serving a Level I trauma environment
CT Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of CT Technologist experience; 2–3 years of radiologic technology experience is preferred
- Experience working in a Level I trauma setting is required
- Siemens CT scanner experience is required
- Graduate of an approved radiologic technology program
- Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist and CT Technologist licenses
- Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography or an equivalent credential
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, diagnostic imaging processes, CT techniques, and radiology procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients who may be experiencing physical or emotional stress
- Ability to float among hospital radiology locations and adapt to changing coverage needs
CT Technologist Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanners, power injectors, patient monitoring devices, laser printers, and related diagnostic imaging equipment according to established protocols
- Prepare, position, immobilize, and safely monitor patients throughout CT examinations
- Select appropriate imaging factors and acquire high-quality diagnostic CT images for physician interpretation
- Explain examinations clearly while addressing each patient’s physical and emotional needs
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction and follow applicable contrast-safety procedures
- Calibrate and verify CT equipment before use, report malfunctions, and help coordinate needed repairs
- Complete radiology information system documentation, exam records, image transfers, and PACS functions
- Transport and transfer patients in accordance with department guidelines
- Maintain patient confidentiality, professional conduct, and ethical standards
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service education, continuing education, quality assurance, research, and process-improvement initiatives
- Prepare and restock equipment rooms and supplies for daily patient care
- Support students and other personnel through instruction or oversight when assigned
- Use sound judgment and initiative when managing complex or time-sensitive CT examinations
- Remain flexible with coverage needs, including on-call responsibilities and overtime when necessary
