Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 17-18 bed Med Surg unit within a hospital that includes specialized centers such as Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and a Level 3 NICU.
- Unit patient population includes adult and geriatric patients.
- Common diagnoses treated include Pneumonia, COPD, CHF, CVA, and Cancer.
- Float requirements include coverage across all areas of the facility.
- No call requirements.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system used: Cerner (experience with Cerner is required).
- Patient ratio approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Additional Information
- Dress code allows any scrub color; no unacceptable attire specified.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg RNs comfortable with adult and geriatric patient populations and proficient in Cerner EHR.
