Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry
Location: Danville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- 36-bed Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4, Telemetry 1:6; blended ratio 1:5 (experience required)
- Serves all age groups
- Electronic Health Record system: Meditech
- Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend and call hours: As needed
- Float requirements: May float to Med/Surg and ICU units within a 25-mile radius
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Clinical Focus & Common Diagnoses
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI)
- Respiratory failure
- Renal failure
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Atrial Fibrillation (AFib)
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- Random drug screening and criminal background questionnaire required
- Dress code: Scrubs only; casual wear not permitted
- Float assignments may require travel within a 25-mile radius of the facility
