Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
- Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
- Unit Beds: 17-18
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner
- Float Requirements: Must be able to float to all areas of the facility
- Call Requirements: None
Common Diagnoses/Treatments
- Pneumonia
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)
- Cancer
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- Dress code: Any scrub color allowed; no unacceptable attire specified
This position offers the opportunity to work in a facility with multiple specialty centers including brain, cancer, heart, lung, orthopedics, surgical weight loss, women’s health, and a Level 3 NICU, as well as adult behavioral health services nearby.
