Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Vernal, Utah
Contract Length: 13 weeks

- 39-bed hospital, Joint Commission Accredited
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Stroke Receiving Facility designation
- Chest Pain Accredited
- 5-star CMS rating
- Emergency Room treats over 14,000 patients annually, staffed 24/7 with dedicated ER physician
- Med/Surg Unit: 18 beds
- Patient Ratios: 4-6 patients per nurse
- Equipment includes Linett Beds, bladder scanner, Masimo monitors, interpreter services
- Electronic Health Record system: MedHost
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical
- Shift: Day shift
- Weekly Hours: 48 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: Rotating every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to other departments as needed
- Initial Assignment: Must work 4 shifts during the first half of the contract
- Orientation: Monthly, during the 2nd full week of the month (Monday-Thursday)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Utah
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must have prior to arrival; PALS required due to patient age range)
Patient Population & Common Diagnoses
- Patients aged 28 days to end of life
- Common conditions: COPD, Heart Failure, Orthopedic Surgeries, General Surgeries
Dress Code
- Scrubs only, any solid color allowed
Additional Notes
- Travel candidates must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
- No call requirements
- Must be adaptable to float to other units based on staffing needs
