Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
Location: Marquette, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in a 225-bed specialty care hospital with services including Heart & Vascular, Cancer, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics.
- Unit: Acute Medical/Surgical (6th floor)
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Hours: Rotating
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric (ages 18-125)
- Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment used: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, Bladder scanner, Dynamaps
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs preferred (Navy acceptable)
- Fingernails must be clean, short, and comply with Hand Hygiene Policy
- Tattoos that may be offensive must be covered
- Excessive jewelry is not allowed
- Local candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
Work Environment
- Trauma Level 2 facility
- Requires ability to handle common medical/surgical diagnoses and treatments
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and take appropriate action in urgent situations
