Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Location: Marquette, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Work in a 225-bed specialty care hospital with services including Heart & Vascular, Cancer, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, and Pediatrics.
Unit: Acute Medical/Surgical (6th floor)
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend Hours: Rotating
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric (ages 18-125)
Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
Equipment used: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, Bladder scanner, Dynamaps
Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Additional Information

Orientation occurs bi-weekly
Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs preferred (Navy acceptable)
Fingernails must be clean, short, and comply with Hand Hygiene Policy
Tattoos that may be offensive must be covered
Excessive jewelry is not allowed
Local candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status

Work Environment

Trauma Level 2 facility
Requires ability to handle common medical/surgical diagnoses and treatments
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and take appropriate action in urgent situations
