Location: Mayfield, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours (guaranteed)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed

Patient Population: Obstetrics, Nursery, occasional Gynecology surgery, occasional breast reduction, abdominoplasty

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery following AWHONN standards for patient ratios.
• Must have OB/Labor & Delivery experience and charge nurse experience.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays.
• Professional dress code required; scrub color is flexible but no casual wear allowed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN experience, including Labor and Delivery, within the last year
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• Required certifications prior to start:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • HWC (Health and Wellness Certification)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Information

• Facility is a 107-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital.
• The Labor & Delivery unit has 8 beds and serves a diverse OB patient population.
• Patient care includes emergent and elective services related to obstetrics and gynecology.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
