Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Richlands, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Facility Information
- Department: Emergency Department
- Unit Beds: 16
- Patient Ratios: Typically 5:1, may be pulled to full bed
- Patient Population: Geriatric, adult, pediatrics, OB
- Equipment Used: EKG, Ultrasound, LUCAS, EZ-IO, Omnicell, stretcher, wheelchair, Medtronic
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): MediTech
- Shift Availability: 1 night shift, 1 mid shift
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Dress Code: Any solid color scrub top and scrub pants; no ill-fitting, revealing, see-through, hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or spandex
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Common Diagnoses & Treatments
- Acute diagnostic and treatment cases typical to emergency care
Additional Notes
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
- No call responsibilities
- Personality fit: Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment with diverse patient populations
