Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location

Hickory, North Carolina

Employment Type

Travel assignment

Contract Length

13 weeks

Work Schedule

36 hours per week
Every other weekend required
Shift: Primarily day and afternoon shifts

Unit and Patient Population

Telemetry unit with 24 beds
Patient ratio: 4:1
Patient population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages ranging from young adult to elderly adult
Common diagnoses/treatments: Chest pain, A-fib, congestive heart failure (CHF), pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial), video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)

Required Certifications and Licenses

Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
NIH Certification

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Skills and Equipment

Must have experience with Life Pak, Zoll, Masimo devices
Cerner electronic health record (EHR) experience preferred and required

Additional Information

May occasionally float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), Neurological Progressive Care Unit (NPCU), and/or Surgical units
Family-oriented unit culture
Dress code: Any color scrubs allowed
