Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry (Travel)
Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
Weekend Requirement: Must occasionally work weekends
Call Requirement: Only when down staffed or placed on call
Unit & Patient Information
- Unit Type: Acute Care, Med/Surg Telemetry
- Number of Beds: 34
- Patient Ratios: 6:1
- Patient Population: Geriatric, adults, occasional pediatrics (peds not assigned to traveler)
- Patient Types: Telemetry, surgical, general medical
- Equipment Used: Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- One year or more of total travel nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Job Expectations & Environment
- Flexible and willing to assist where needed
- Possible float to care for inpatient holds
- Dress Code: Scrubs of any color, closed-toed shoes only
- Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation provided
Additional Notes
- Travel candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
- The unit occasionally requires weekend work and on-call coverage during staffing shortages
This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped acute care setting with a diverse patient population in a scenic region of southeastern Arizona.
