Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
Call Requirements: No scheduled on-call; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract

Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Number of Beds: 40
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
Typical Patients: Total joint, surgical, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
Floating: Expected to float to Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) units

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
At least one completed travel nursing assignment
Current ACLS certification
Current BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Acute care nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preceptor and charge nurse experience is a plus

Joint Commission Accredited community hospital with 171 beds
Level 3 Trauma Center
No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but not guaranteed
Dress Code: Black scrubs (top and bottom), no open shoes
