Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Position Overview
- Department: Telemetry
- Number of Openings: 2
- Shift: Part-time/Alternate (P/A)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical units
- Patient Population: Generalized cardiac patients, ages young adult to elderly adult
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- Number of Beds: 24
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
Common Diagnoses & Treatments
- Chest Pain
- Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib)
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin & radial)
- Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS)
Work Environment & Culture
- Family-oriented unit
- Scrub color: Any color allowed
- No unacceptable attire specified
Additional Notes
- Cerner EHR experience is a requirement
- No trauma level designation for this unit
- Equipment used includes Life Paks, Zoll, Masimo monitors
