Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in a 355-bed hospital with specialized centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 NICU.
Unit includes a 32-bed Emergency Department, 29-bed inpatient rehab, 15-bed surgical suite & imaging, and an 81-bed adult Behavioral Health campus.
Assigned to a Med Surg unit with approximately 17-18 beds.
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics.
Common diagnoses treated: Pneumonia, COPD, CHF, CVA, Cancer.
Float requirements include all areas of the facility.
No call requirements.
EHR system used: Cerner (experience required).
Patient ratio approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification
Completion of Healthstream Course
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Cerner EHR system

Additional Information

No weekend or call requirements specified.
Float to all areas within the facility.
Cerner EHR experience is mandatory.
