Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours: Full time (36 hours/week) or part time (24 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
Call Requirements: None
Unit and Patient Information
- Acute inpatient behavioral health/addictions hospital
- Number of Beds: 48
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 12:1 (varies with census)
- Patient Population: Adult
- Patients must be medically cleared before arrival; exclusion of patients with lines or tubes except CPAPs and those needing 2L oxygen or less
- Charting primarily paper-based; orders entered via electronic platform; medications dispensed from pyxis
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Substance abuse disorders
- Mood disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- PTSD
- Anxiety disorders
Additional Information
- Staff rotate between two units within the hospital
- Positive team player with critical thinking skills, empathy, and kindness preferred
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; hoodies are not acceptable attire
