Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a behavioral health/addictions acute inpatient unit. This role involves working day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with full-time hours (36 hours/week) or part-time (24 hours/week). Weekend work is required every third weekend. There are no call requirements.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Acute inpatient behavioral health/addictions
- Number of Beds: 48
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 12:1 (varies with census)
- Patient Population: Adult
- Equipment/Patient Criteria: Patients must be medically cleared before arrival. Patients with lines or tubes are excluded except for CPAP users and those requiring 2L oxygen or less.
- Charting: Primarily paper-based with electronic order entry via HCS platform. Medications dispensed from Pyxis system.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Mood disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- PTSD
- Anxiety disorders
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required; hoodies are not allowed

- Staff rotate between two units within the hospital
