Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the surgical unit provides comprehensive and patient-centered nursing care across all stages of growth and development, from pediatric to geriatric. The RN is responsible for conducting thorough assessments, delivering consistent clinical skills, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform systematic and comprehensive patient assessments.
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care according to unit protocols.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient care and progress.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to policies and guidelines.
• Respond effectively to patients, families, and team members to enhance satisfaction.
• Follow safety protocols, including patient identification and safe transfer techniques.
• Provide care tailored to the specific needs of surgical patients and their procedures.
• Conduct patient education regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate pre-admission testing orders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of ICU experience - Required
• Registered Nurse License - Required
• BLS Certification - Required
• ACLS Certification - Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
