MS Stroke Stepdown Registered Nurse

Location

New York, NY

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our MS Stroke Stepdown unit. This role requires a strong foundation in managing a variety of patients with complex medical conditions, including stroke, altered mental status, and respiratory issues.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to stroke and post-surgical patients.
Manage and monitor vital signs, medication administration, and treatment plans.
Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
Assist in the coordination of patient care among healthcare team members.
Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
Float to other units as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Must have at least 2 years of experience in MS Stroke Stepdown or related specialty.
Current and valid NY RN License.
AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
All active RN Licenses must be verified through NURSYS.
Strong experience with Epic EMR is preferred.
2 recent references from MS Charge/Manager RNs.
