Schedule

Night shifts: 3x12-hours (19:00 - 07:00). On-call hours required, approximately 16-20 hours in a 6-week schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide high-quality care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. This role involves working within a collaborative healthcare team, utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge to manage both routine and complex obstetrical cases.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments, initiate care plans, and monitor the health status of patients during labor and delivery.
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage complications effectively.
• Provide support and education to patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as necessary.
• Conduct postpartum assessments and care, including cesarean section recovery.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and provide optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Active BLS and NRP certifications are required
• AWHONN certifications (Beginner preferred, Intermediate acceptable)
• Experience with the Epic charting system preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
