Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist operates sophisticated equipment and provides patient care during catheterization procedures. This role involves assisting the physician in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, as well as interpreting hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings. The technologist will be responsible for operating and maintaining fluorographic, digital image recording, laser, and electrophysiology equipment, developing quality control policies and procedures, and monitoring the quality control program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations.
• Interpret hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings.
• Operate and maintain various medical imaging equipment.
• Develop and monitor quality control policies and programs.
• Train staff technologists, fellows, and nursing staff in equipment functionality and safety procedures.
• Maintain inventory control systems and computer reports.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of experience as a cardiac cath or interventional radiology technologist.
• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Studies required.
• Completion of a Non Degree Program Approved Cardiovascular Technology Program required or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
