Job Description
The Emergency Department (ED) seeks an experienced Charge Nurse to provide leadership and management during the night shift. The nurse will be responsible for overseeing patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment. You will handle a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, and will be expected to manage cases ranging from strokes and sepsis to trauma and cardiac arrests.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department during the night shift.
- Provide high-quality patient care and coordinate with the healthcare team.
- Manage patient flow and triage effectively in a high-stress environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department, including pediatric experience.
- Valid and active New York RN license.
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (TNCC must be in hand).
- Documentation of travel experience is required.
- 2 recent charge or manager RN references.
- Completion of skills checklist matching the specialty.
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
