Schedule

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12 hour shifts. Every other weekend and holidays are required as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. The RN plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient needs; identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments. The role also involves initiating assessments based on the patient’s problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.

Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
• Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2+ years of recent critical care experience required.
• Highly prefer experience caring for neurosurgical patients, vent management, and EVD.
• Required education: ASN; preferred: BSN.
• Required certifications: BLS-AHA, NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license, ACLS-AHA, Telemetry, NIHSS, CEU Contact Stroke (4 hours).
