PM shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, every 3rd weekend, and 1 summer holiday. Floating as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the ICU is responsible for delivering patient-centered care through comprehensive assessments, clinical skills, documentation, and patient education. The RN will effectively communicate with patients, families, and co-workers while following safety protocols and maintaining professionalism throughout their practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments across all life stages, from pediatric to geriatric.
• Provide competent clinical nursing care according to the specific needs of the patients.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient progress and care plans.
• Demonstrate professionalism and knowledge of policies and procedures to facilitate personal growth.
• Enhance patient satisfaction by responding courteously to patients and families.
• Ensure compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, including proper identification protocols.
• Individualize patient care based on diagnoses and procedures encountered in the ICU.
• Assess patient understanding and provide necessary education regarding surgical procedures.
• Evaluate and ensure appropriateness of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of ICU experience - Required
• Current RN License - Required
• BLS Certification - Required
• ACLS Certification - Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
