Night shift (4x12 hours: 19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required.

Job Description

Join a fast-paced, high-acuity hematology/oncology unit that specializes in the care of patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, and post MI, as well as cardiac pharmacological interventions. The unit provides comprehensive care for patients actively receiving chemotherapy, managing chemo side effects, and treating medical patients with underlying cancer diagnoses. This position offers the opportunity to cross-train in the MICU, enhancing your skill set while providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and clinical support to patients in an oncology setting.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage associated side effects.
• Monitor vital signs and patient conditions with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, pharmacy, and social services.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and healthcare needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN license in hand is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience required.
• Chemo Certification, ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Epic charting experience is mandatory.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
