Schedule

Full Time 3x12s - day or night shifts as needed by schedule, plus every other weekend and holiday, with 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family needs through active listening and communication.
• Create individualized plans of care addressing identified health problems.
• Educate patients and families about self-care and lifestyle changes.
• Document patient education and family response to learning.
• Maintain competency in infection prevention strategies.
• Promote a healing environment through meaningful patient interactions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
• One (1) Year Experience serving in a Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse
