Schedule

Full Time: 3x12 hour shifts, day or night shifts as needed, includes every other weekend, holidays, and 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs and develops individualized plans of care.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans accordingly.
• Promotes, advocates for, and protects the health and rights of patients.
• Teaches and motivates patients/families about continuing care and self-management.
• Engages in self-evaluation of nursing practice and seeks professional development.
• Creates a healing environment that fosters trust and communication.
• Administers medications and demonstrates proficiency in clinical interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS.
• One (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse is required.
