Respiratory Therapist - Nights

Location

This position is located in New York.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients from neonates to adults. The role involves operating advanced respiratory equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards while supporting patients in various clinical settings, including the nursery and emergency room as needed.

Responsibilities

Administer therapies and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status and response to interventions.
Utilize respiratory equipment responsibly, including Puritan Bennett 980, 840, and LTV1200 ventilators.
Provide education and support to patients and their families.
Document patient care within the EPIC system accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
Current NRP certification is mandatory.
New York state license or proof of application is required.
ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
EPIC experience within the past two years is necessary.
