Schedule

8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM. Call is required, with a minimum of 1x per week and weekends on a rotating basis.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients of all ages. The RN coordinates patient care with the surgical team, guides other personnel, and maintains professional nursing standards. Responsibilities also include compliance with regulations, participation in performance improvement activities, and acting as a resource for colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting.
• Coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Direct and guide OR Technicians and other staff.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and hospital policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on-the-job training required.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Pre/Post Op experience preferred.
