Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position. The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist operates sophisticated equipment and provides patient care during catheterization procedures. The role includes assisting physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, as well as performing and interpreting hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings. The technologist is responsible for the operation and maintenance of fluorographic, digital image recording, laser, and electrophysiology equipment, as well as developing and monitoring quality control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate sophisticated equipment during catheterization procedures.
• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations.
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings.
• Ensure appropriate maintenance of fluorographic and digital image recording equipment.
• Develop and monitor quality control programs.
• Train staff including cardiac technologists, fellows, and nursing staff on equipment function and safety procedures.
• Maintain inventory control systems and computer reports.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Studies required.
• Completion of a Non-Degree Approved Cardiovascular Technology Program required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years of experience as a cardiac cath or interventional radiology technologist required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification required or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

AM Shift, 8 hours.
