Job Description

The Critical Care Nurse is responsible for overall nursing practice and provides professional nursing care to treat human responses to life-threatening problems. This includes conducting assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care based on the AACN Standards. The nurse must recognize cardiac arrhythmias and manage life-threatening situations while providing care for the pediatric through geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing assessment of all critically ill patients to promote optimal outcomes.
• Conducting a comprehensive health history and physical assessment.
• Prioritizing patient problems/needs according to actual/potential threats.
• Developing and implementing a plan of care based on ongoing assessments.
• Managing life-threatening complications per facility policies and AACN standards.
• Establishing interventions to maintain airway, ventilation, hemodynamic stability, and heart rhythm.
• Maintaining and updating knowledge and skills in critical care practice.
• Completing mandatory education and participating in annual competency fair.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Preference will be given to candidates with EPIC experience.
• Must meet minimum qualifications for licensure, certification, and registration at all times.
