Job Description

Within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. The RN is expected to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. Furthermore, the RN will assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff including LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient status utilizing telemetry.
• Administer cardiac medications and demonstrate knowledge of their titration and application.
• Recognize changes in patient status and intervene appropriately.
• Educate and supervise non-RN personnel in patient care activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of nursing experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry - Required
• Active American Heart Association BLS Certification - Required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification - Required
• Active NIHSS Certification - Required
• Current and valid Ohio or Compact RN License - Required
• Competent knowledge in telemetry and heart rhythms - Required
