Job Description

The CT Technologist performs Computerized Tomographic procedures in adherence to hospital standards and regulatory guidelines. This role requires proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy and computer applications relevant to CT, ensuring all routine procedures are completed efficiently. The technologist must also adhere to universal precautions and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform Computerized Tomographic procedures within a 45-minute timeframe for all routine scans.
• Verify the clarity and accuracy of images and documentation in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Interview patients to gather relevant clinical history and provide comprehensive instructions regarding their procedures.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) by documenting activities and gathering customer satisfaction data.
• Engage in ongoing education to maintain licensure and certification.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and perform additional duties as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program from an AMA-approved institution.
• Ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or certification by the NJ State Board of Examiners.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Demonstrated competency in CT procedures and understanding of radiation protection.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform necessary tasks involving bending, kneeling, and stooping.
