8-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Call is required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (RN OR) is responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting. This requires utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The RN coordinates patient care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs the OR Technician and other personnel, and upholds nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the OR setting.
• Coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Guide and direct OR Technicians and other personnel.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulations.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
• Act as a resource for other personnel as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (within 30 days of hire).
• Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• Open-heart experience is required.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification is preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Pre/Post Op experience is preferred.
