Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety, embodying the core values of delivering superior quality care while treating others with respect and achieving objectives through teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for patients and families based on assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Accountable for accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, delivering direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to auxiliary nursing staff, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety following hospital policies.
• Engage in team building to maintain a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with management on service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed.
• Pursue professional development through ongoing education and self-study.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Experience in stepdown units required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts.
