Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs cardio-pulmonary evaluations, respiratory care, life support, and education for patients, families, and the public. The RRT works with both inpatients and outpatients of all ages who have deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, following established protocols or the prescription of a physician. The RRT can perform respiratory care duties in all areas of the hospital.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performing cardio-pulmonary evaluations and respiratory care
Providing life support and education to patients and families
Working collaboratively with healthcare teams in various hospital settings

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

NRP, BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications are required
Labor & Delivery/Neonatal Resuscitation experience is required
NBRC RRT and New York State Licensure are required
Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program is required
Critical Care proficiency is required
