Schedule
This position requires evening shifts, Monday through Friday, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, with the possibility of a 4x10 schedule. There is a call requirement for backup on 12-hour weekends every 4th to 5th week.
Job Description
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist will be responsible for providing patient care and performing MRI procedures in accordance with established safety standards. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of the MRI process and demonstrate proficiency in handling equipment and patient positioning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for Magnetic Resonance procedures and explain exams thoroughly.
- Perform MRI procedures including neuro, body, and extremity imaging, adhering to radiologist protocols.
- Conduct venous access on patients requiring IV contrast administration as directed.
- Enter necessary data into Radiology Imaging Systems and manage image processing.
- Identify anatomy on images to assist in accurate diagnosis.
- Conduct quality control tests of MRI equipment and report issues to the Team Leader.
- Manage supply orders and maintain communication regarding supply levels.
- Provide radiological support to physicians and act as a liaison within the Radiology department.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma hospital.
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ARRT MR or ARMRIT (MRSO preferred).
