Schedule
The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts every other week and includes night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
Job Description
The Critical Care Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care to treat human responses to life-threatening problems based on the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) Standards. This role involves assessing patients' needs, developing a plan of care, implementing nursing measures, and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing care to protect, maintain, and restore health across the pediatric to geriatric population.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing assessments for critically ill patients to promote optimal outcomes.
- Perform comprehensive health history and physical assessments.
- Prioritize patient problems and needs according to actual/potential threats.
- Develop and implement a tailored plan of care based on patient assessments.
- Manage life-threatening complications per established policies and AACN standards.
- Maintain accountability for knowledge and skills in critical care practice.
- Stay current on professional issues, concepts, trends, and advances related to Critical Care Nursing.
- Ensure compliance with licensure, certification, and registration requirements.
- Complete mandatory education and participate in annual competency assessments.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Preference for candidates with EPIC experience due to upcoming system transition.
- Current licensure and certifications relevant to critical care nursing.
