Pediatric Cardiac Nurse - Night Shift

Location

Texas

This is a 13-week contract position.

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Nights)

Job Description

The competent Pediatric Cardiac Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing both routine and complex care. The nurse must possess a strong ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing and make appropriate assignments to support the clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administers medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only) are required.
  • RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
  • Must have Pediatric cardiac experience, including knowledge of chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.
