Cat Scan Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Wednesday to Saturday, from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Weekend and holiday availability required.

Job Description

The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. The role includes assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures using professional judgment.
• Reviews and documents patient clinical history for procedures, ensuring accuracy in PACS.
• Prepares and screens the accuracy of contrast questionnaires with patients.
• Administers contrast media as prescribed and verifies appropriateness of exams.
• Communicates with Radiologists and Referring Physicians for correct prescriptions.
• Verifies insurance authorizations and requests modifications as necessary.
• Schedules and processes outside studies in EPIC for Radiologist comparison.
• Provides information and instructions to patients regarding procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Adheres to departmental policies, including attendance and punctuality standards.
• Meets patient care needs specific to age, culture, and language.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CT technologist in a Trauma 1 center.
• Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program with a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License and ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
• ARRT (CT) certification must be achieved within twelve months of hire.
