Days, 8 hours M-F with flexible times as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant will utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments as necessary.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist and assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies.
• Adhere to APTA and state required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice.
