Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3, 12-hour shifts from 19:30 to 08:00, including every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts. The RN will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, and adults. Responsibilities include managing labor, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring the health and safety of mothers and babies throughout the birthing process.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage pain assessment and management.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and perform cesarean section circulating duties.
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and maintain central lines.
• Manage labor induction with medications such as Pitocin and magnesium sulfate.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Active RN license in Maryland or a compact license.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE required; CPI certification preferred.
• Experience with the Epic charting system preferred.
• Ability to float within the specialty as needed.
