Description

Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 5x8 hours per week, from 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM. No weekend requirements.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care to patients with various wound care needs. This role is pivotal in a teaching hospital environment, focusing on advanced wound management strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with wounds, including pressure ulcers and post-operative wounds.
  • Utilize advanced wound care modalities, such as negative pressure wound therapy and autolytic debridement.
  • Provide education on wound care management to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Maintain documentation and follow protocols related to wound care treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a wound care setting as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • WOCN certification is required; continence certification is not necessary.
  • South Carolina RN license preferred or proof of application for licensure.
