12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with every other weekend requirement.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality care to post-operative and oncology patients in a telemetry unit. Responsibilities include monitoring patient vitals, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient recovery and care continuity.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care for a diverse population with post-operative and oncology diagnoses.
- Administer chemotherapy and manage PleurX chest tubes as required.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret ECG strips, with support from central monitoring techs.
- Ensure compliance with neutropenic precautions and other infection control standards.
- Collaborate with CNAs and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license required.
- BLS certification required; ONS/ONCC certification for chemotherapy biotherapy is a plus.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and titrating heparin drips preferred.
- Background in managing post-operative patients and oncology care is strongly desired.
