Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with experience in adult critical care for a challenging and rewarding position. The CRT will provide respiratory care in a fully functional 24/7 in-house department, covering areas such as the ICU, Emergency Room, Medical/Surgical units, Pediatrics, and newborn stabilization. The role requires proficiency in ventilator management, ability to work independently, and adaptability to a changing care environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and medications as prescribed.
• Perform extubation, airway placements, and tracheostomy care.
• Manage non-invasive and invasive ventilators with routine medication delivery.
• Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and troubleshoot high pressure alarms.
• Care for patients in critical care, emergency, and pediatrics environments.
• Support COVID-19 patient populations as needed.
• Occasionally perform EKG after hours in support of the Cardiology Department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care settings.
• Active NY state license.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP required. PALS and RRT preferred.
• Experience with preferred ventilators: Servo I, LTV, Hamilton T1.
• Experience in using EPIC charting system.
