This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday).
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care in a critical care setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing ventilators, initiating and administering BiPAP and high flow therapies, responding to codes, performing in-house transports, and making medication administrations.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood gas analyses and interpret results.
- Initiate and manage ventilation and non-invasive respiratory support therapies.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and code responses.
- Assist in patient transport within the facility.
- Administer medications and respiratory treatments as needed.
- Utilize clinical judgment to assist in patient assessment and care plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably with PICU/NICU experience.
- Active New Jersey state license as a Respiratory Therapist required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certifications required.
- Advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS/NRP) are highly preferred.
