Job Description

The Outpatient Occupational Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction. Responsible for the delegation and direction of all therapy services for assigned patients, this role ensures the design of functional treatment programs that allow for an effective return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
• Document all patient care activities accurately, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessment, and medical necessity letters.
• Participate in student programs by providing a positive learning environment and supervision.
• Create a professional development plan and pursue continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements concerning state practice acts and maintain licensure in good standing.
• Promote safety and quality improvement initiatives within the organization.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Active CPR certification.
• Must have hand experience and be comfortable making splints.
• Active licensure for the state where work will be performed.

Schedule

This position offers a flexible 40-hour work week, with the requirement of a consistent outpatient caseload.
